The General Labor Inspectorate reminds that paid annual leave for 2020 can only be used until the end of this year. The provision that limits workers from deferring their leave for longer periods was passed back in 2010. Every worker is required to use their paid annual leave by the end of the calendar year in which it is taken. It is the employer's duty to inform the workers at the beginning of it how many days they have to use and how many they have left from the previous year. The employer must also create an order for the use of vacations. At the employee's request, part of the paid leave can be postponed and used in the following calendar year, but only with the employer's consent. For important production reasons, the employer could also postpone part of the leave, but he is obliged to ensure the use of at least half of the days in the year for which it is applied, and the rest - until the middle of the next at the latest, the inspection explains. The employee may, after this period, with 14 days' notice, use the transferred days, in which case the employer's consent is not required. Upon leaving, the worker is entitled to compensation for the days that have not been extinguished by statute of limitations.

Germany has called for global regulations on the cryptocurrency industry to protect users, prevent money laundering and preserve financial stability, Reuters reported. The president of Germany's financial watchdog BaFin, Mark Branson, called it a wrong tactic to let the crypto industry develop as a "playground for adults." "We've seen the world of self-regulation. It doesn't work," Branson told reporters in Frankfurt on Tuesday night. He made the statement hours after the founder of the failed cryptocurrency trading exchange FTX (FTX) Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested in the Bahamas at the request of US prosecutors who accuse him of embezzling billions of dollars. The collapse of the FTX platform is defined as potentially one of the largest financial frauds in the United States, notes Reuters. The president of Germany's financial regulator noted that the so-called "crypto winter" might be followed by a "crypto spring," but the cryptocurrency industry that would emerge then would likely be more closely related to traditional finance, which would further increased the need for its regulation.

The Indian automobile concern Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. plans to invest 100 billion rupees ($1.2 billion) in a plant to make electric SUVs, a significant shift for a company heavily dependent on fossil fuel-powered cars. Mahindra will invest in building a factory in Pune, western India, with the facility taking about eight years to build. The plan has been approved by the Indian authorities and will be implemented under a program of the state of Maharashtra to promote electric vehicles. India has been significantly slower to adopt electric mobility than other major economies, hampered by a lack of charging infrastructure and high vehicle prices. The new plant could help Mumbai-based Mahindra compete more successfully with Tata Motors Ltd., the dominant player in India's electric car market. Mahindra sells only one electric model – the e-Verito. At the same time, Mahindra is the market leader in electric three-wheelers. Electric vehicles will account for about 59% of new car sales in India by 2040, compared to 85% in China and 79% in the US. At the end of September, rival Tata Motors launched India's cheapest electric car at just over $10,000, as the concern seeks to attract more buyers. Tata is the leader in India's electric car market, buoyed by government subsidies and high import duties. Source: investor.bg

Kadin Bridge |
 |
Kadin bridge was built over the river of Struma, near the village of Nevestino, which is located some 14 km away from the town of Kystendil. The bridge is one of the greatest monuments on the Balkan Peninsula which has survived over the centuries of the Turkish yoke. According to an ancient inscription on a plate, built inside the bridge, it was constructed sometime between 1469 and 1470 by Ishak Pasha. An interesting legend tells it was built by three brothers, who worked hard all day, but at night the river destroyed everything they had managed to build in the day. They though they should make a sacrifice and decided to give as sacrifice one of their wives – the one to arrive first the next day to bring her husband his breakfast. The first to come was the youngest one. In one hand, she was carrying her child, and in the other – the food. Despite her pleading not to separate her from her child and her many tears, the brothers were inexorable – the building wanted a dear offering and they had to give it, no matter how much it hurt. People say that today still, at night when the river swells, they could hear the crying of the misfortunate mother.
