Tchair Gorge

The Tchair Gorge, Smolyan District (Rhodope Mountain) is as beautiful as the more popular Trigrad and Buinovsko Gorge. The Tchair Gorge impresses by the enormous rocks overhanging the road, the Tchair River and Shabanitsa – a century-old coniferous forest protecting lots of animals. Some exceptionally interesting nature phenomena may be seen here. In the beginning tourists may enjoy the Prevaletiya Kamak – a natural stone arch, 10 m in height. Further the road leads to the wonderful Tchair lakes having a landslide origin. They are laid among wide meadows giving a breathtaking scenery to the whole mountain. The Boidalaka summit raises above the gorge and offers a wonderful view of big part of the Phodope Mountain.
