Thracian Sanctuary "Lilac rock sanctuary"

The Thracian Sanctuary Lilac rock is situated at the foot of the Sredna Gora Mountain, in the territory of the village Rozovets, under the peak of Gradishteto, Plovdiv district. On its territory is the only megalithic stele in Bulgaria. The name of the emblematic megalith sanctuary comes from the nearby lilac forest. On site are the typical for the sanctuaries on the territory of Sredna Gora, shaped in the granite rock altars, seat-throne, carved chutes and circular carving. The well-formed megalithic stelе is in a specially shaped rock bed on a rocky slope facing south. The height of the stellate is 2 m, with a narrow landing in front of it. The stele is the only one well preserved and documented on the territory of a megalithic sanctuary in Bulgaria. It is facing the Plovdiv field. At the foot of the fortress, called Gradishteto, there are several sanctuaries - among them is the biggest dolmen on the Bulgarian territory in the Plachata area, as well as the megalithic facilities from the area "Cupel".
