Happy Birthday to Vassil Naidenov

Vassil Naidenov was born on September 3, 1950 in Sofia. He graduated at the Academy of Music, Piano specialty in 1973. He became very popular in 1979 when he won the First Prize of the Golden Orpheus festival, and the homonymous song of the film Adaptatsia (music by Mitko Shterev) was declared Melody of the Year. His songs Otkrovenie, I utre e den, and A dali e taka made him one of the most beloved Bulgarian singers. Vassil Naidenov worked as pianoman and singer in bands for more than 10 years. In 1969 he started in Zlatni Struni, and in the beginning of the 70-ies he joined for a while the orchestra of Bisser Kirov. In the period 1976-1978 he was the singer in the Diana Express band, where he sang Sineva, and was known for a long time as Vasko Sinevata (Vasko the Azure). For a short time he was a solo singer in Tangra. Each song performed by him became a hit. The 80-ies passed under his musical reign. Thanks to his performance a number of songs won prizes at the Golden Orpheus – Po parvi petli (1982), and Lyubovta prodaljava (1982), and some were declared Melody of the Year – Telefonna lyubov (1982), Sbogom kazah (1985), Chudo (1983). Vassil Naidenov received the musical critics’ recognition as performer – first prize at the Golden Orpheus (1981), Second prize at Schlager Festival – Dresden 1981. Second prize in Havana festival (1982). He is favorite of the radio audience – he was declared the top performer for numerous times at the Bulgarian National Radio’s chart Muzikalna Stalbitsa.
