The Palace of Culture – Pernik

The symbolic building was designed by architect Alexander Dubovic. Today the Palace is a center of rich and various activity, successor and continuator of important cultural traditions. The choir for entertaining and popular music at the Palace was established in season 96/97. The chamber choir Collegium Canticum, founded in 1987, has won the golden medal of the Eighth Republican Festival of the amateur art activities and the big prize of the International choir festival in the town of Levadia, Greece. The Folk Choir was founded in 1959 and has an extremely rich repertoire. The choir skillfully presents the Bulgarian song through the masterly selected voices. The Ensemble for folk songs and dances Graovska mladost was established in 1959. It ha won silver and gold medals from all the Republican Reviews of Amateur Art Activities and first prizes of world competitions and festivals. The Professional Brass was founded in 1902, and the Professional Folk-Style Orchestra – in 1959 and is a folklore mixture of soul, music and dances. The Children- juvenile dance ensemble at the Ensemble for folk songs and dances Graovska mladost was formed in 1995.
