Tekirska mishorka |
 |
Tekirska mishorka (Gypsophila tekirae) is an endemic species, a
perennial herbaceous in the family Caryophyllaceae, planting only in
Bulgaria, in the Pazardjik district, in the Besarapski hills near the
villages Ognyanovo, Sinitevo and Hadjievo. The species can be seen
nowhere else in the world. The plant is a protected one. The Tekirska
mishorka was described and classified for the first time in 1929 by the
Bulgarian botanist Academician Boris Stefanov. The name tekire
(tekirae) comes from the old name of the Tri Voditsi village, which was
once named Tekire. In fact the Tekirska mishorka does not plant near
the Tri Voditsi village, but when it was collected for the first time in the
vicinity of the village of Hadjievo, the Academician pointed the name of
the more popular of the time adjacent village of Tekira. The plant is
threatened by quarry opened, the artificial forestation, the increase of
the intensity of the land cultivating the and the invasion of Ailanthus
altissima. It flowers June-August, most often in July.
