Krushuna

The village of Krushuna is located some 20 km northwestern direction from the town of Levski (Northern Bulgaria). The district is incredibly picturesque both for tourist and for climbers and cave fans. The waterfalls and caves are situated about 2-3 km away from the village. The Krushuna waterfalls are one of the most beautiful in Bulgaria. It is typical for them the specific vegetation, lush under the falling water. Close to the Waterfall cave above the waterfalls cascade, there is a rock wreath from 8 up to 40 m in height. The total length of the massif is about 200 m. Few years ago an eco-trail was constructed here that makes the walk around really pleasant and easy, and lead to the Devetashko plateau. The local men tell that once, during the time of Evtimiy Tarnovski – the Bulgarian Patriarch, some hermits from the Tarnovo literary school lived here, in the caves.
