The Urban Forest Pchelina is a recreation center located in Razgrad region (Northeastern Bulgaria). It lies about 10 km southwestern direction from Razgrad, among mixed pine tree and birch forest. The locality is a valley, long 4 km, hilly terrain and two dam lakes. The deciduous trees as well as beautiful meadows predominate. The district is characterized by clear and fresh air, and early spring flowers blossom here. The old name of Kuvanlak, and later it was renamed to Pchelina as it is a very proper place for bee farming (pchela in Bulgarian is bee). The local people call the locality Varnelo, as the road between Rousse and Varna crosses it. In the 60s of the past century, after declaring the region of the Voden village, Zavet municipality, a natural reserve the features of the region allowed the local government to develop Pchelina as a zone for short-time recreation. | |||
