The Golden Week started in the National Museum of History. In occasion of the European days of Heritage, organized by the European Council and the European Union, from 22nd to 30th September, 2006, the Thracian golden treasures will be exhibited again in the halls of the National Historical Museum, after their triumphant visiting in Varna during the summer season. For 9 days the visitors could enjoy the priceless 11 Thracian golden treasures found in Bulgaria. Besides the prominent treasures of Rogozen, Valchitran, and Panagyurishte, the visitors may see the finds from the Plovdiv villages Dabene and Duvanli, from the villages of Borovo, Zlatinitsa and Sinemorets. Thousands of people patiently waited the long queues to see the unique Thracian golden treasures. The exhibition will stay that short in Sofia, as in the next two years it will be shown abroad. The most attractive for the visitors treasures – from Zlatinitsa and Sinemorets, however will not leave the country. They include a fine golden chariot which is supposed to have belonged to a Thracian priestess. The collection also includes a lot of funeral gifts, Thracian ornaments, as well as king’s ritual pottery. | |||
