Evgenia Radanova was born on November 4, 1977 in Sofia. She
graduated from the National Sports Academy in Sofia. She is the only
Bulgarian sportswoman to win quotas both for winter and summer
Olympic games. Radanova is most popular as a short track speed
skater but as of the year 2003 she started competing in cycling. She is
five times European short track champion, world record holder in the
500-m run, and double medalist at the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic
games, as she was the one to win the first medal for Bulgaria at the
XIX Olympic Winter Games coming third in the women’s short track
race. Evgenia Radanova won the silver medal in the women’s 500-m
sprint in the short track at the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
