Anniversary from the membership of Bulgaria in IBRD and IMF

Bulgaria officially applied for a membership in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank on 25 February 1990. On 12 September, the Council of Ministers adopted a decree for our country’s membership in the world financial institutions – IMF and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and its adjoining organizations. On 26 September in Washington, USA, during the opening of the annual meeting of IMF and the World Bank, Bulgaria’s nomination was officially accepted.
