Evtim Evtimov (1933-2016)

Evtim Evtimov is a modern Bulgarian poet, known for his love poetry. He has authored more than 40 books.Many of his poems are used as lyrics to songs that have become hits in Bulgaria. Among them are "High" (FSB), "If you're gone for a moment" ( "Impulse"), "Sinner of Love" (Lili Ivanova), "Bitter Wine" (Veselin Marinov) and "Love for Love" (George Hristov). He was born on October 28, 1933 in Petrich. In 1952, he graduated from the Institute of primary school teachers in his hometown. He worked as a teacher for 10 years. In 1951 his first poem is printedin the newspaper "Pirinsko delo". Since 1953 he actively cooperated with the periodicals.He worked as a program director for radio Petrich, secretary of the urban center "Miladinovi Brothers", head of department "Poetry" and director of "People's Youth". He was deputy editor of the magazine "Plamak" and editor of the newspaper "Literary Front" and the magazine "Patriotism". He died on June 8, 2016 in Sofia in the hospital after a severe illness.
