Day of Bulgarian-Hungarian friendship

Day of Bulgarian-Hungarian friendship is celebrated on 19 October. The celebration is supported by the Bulgarian National Assembly and the Hungarian government. The announcement on 19 October as the Day of Bulgarian-Hungarian friendship was adopted by the National Assembly on September 15, 2016. On this day, a number of initiatives and events are being held, showing the general moments in history. This date was not chosen by accident. On October 19 the Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates St. Reverend Ivan Rilski. In 1183, his relics were brought from Sredets to the Hungarian capital Esztergom and then returned again in Sredets (nowadays Sofia) in 1187 - with honor and respect.
