Stefka Sabotinova

Bulgarian folk singer Stefka Sabotinova was born on April 2, 1930 in the village of Rozov kladenets, in Stara Zagora region. Many years she was a soloist and choir singer in the State Ensemble Philip Koutev. She travelled with the ensemble in major concert halls worldwide. In the early seventies Stefka Sabotinova joined the Ensemble for folk songs of the Bulgarian TV and Radio and in the ensemble The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices. She was the only solo singer with songs in the first album of Marcel Cellier - The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices. Stefka Sabotinova has two solo albums and a duet album with the singer Tinka Pesheva. In June 2010 she was awarded the highest Bulgarian award - the Order of Stara Planina - First Degree.
