The village of Lyutibrod

Lyutibrod is situated in mountain region, on the right bank of the Iskar River. There are many cultural and natural sights in the surroundings of the village. The unique cliffs Ritlite, the only one of its kind in Europe, are on the left bank of the Iskar River near Lyutibrod. They are parallel stone walls with height from 60 to 200 meters. Just next to them are the remains of the ancient Roman town Koriten. From this town the foundations of an old castle and an early Christian basilica, impressing with its location in the heart of the mountain and with its decorations, are preserved. Also the remains of the sewerage and the bath near the river were found. Near the village of Lyutibrod is Rashov Dol (The Gorge of Rasho) – the place, where the small army of Hristo Botev (Bulgarian revolutionary) went into action with the Ottomans for last time. One kilometer of this place is the Cherepishki Monastery – a keeper of the Bulgarian culture down the ages. Every year, on June 3, the fair of Lyutibrod is organized.
