Community center Postoianstvo – Lom

The community center Postoianstvo is cultural and education association of the people in the town of Lom (North Bulgaria), which has state cultural and educational functions. It was the National Revival teacher and patriot Krastio Pishurka the first to talk about establishing a community center in Lom in 1848 in the non-clerical school. Many of the articles in the send to the Tsarigradski vestnik (Constantinople paper) from Lom and Vidin evidence for the existing of the community center far before its official opening on April 23, 1856. According to Dimitar Marinov the first opening of the community center happened on October 27, 1852. The community center presented the first Bulgarian theater in 1856, as the first play presented was Mnogostradalna Genoveva (Long-suffering Genoveva). Krastio Pishurka became the ancestor and founder of the first Bulgarian theater – first producer, scriptwriter, and artist. The same year faced the second theater – Velizarieva opera, which was accompanied by the music played by a small orchestra. This play was based on the translated text of the opera Belisario by Gaetano Donizetti. The translation was made by the young trader Angelaki Ivanovich, a friend and assistant of Krastio Pishurka. Later on, he had a lot of devoted successors and adherents like Belcho Belchev – founder of the child’s opera in 1914, Petar Evstatiev – founder of the Lom Opera Theater in 1923, of the only child’s musical medley in Northwestern Bulgaria, and of the first child’s brass in 1925, as well as Alexander Motsev – founder of the People’s choir in 1927. https://maps.app.goo.gl/5oxy9hHSRSqBey728
